Erath 4th of July Celebration
1990 Grand Marshal Numa Broussard
time Erath Educator Numa Broussard was named the 1990 Erath 4th of
July Grand Marshal. He has been an active member of the Erath
community for many years.
He is married to the former Ledie Boudreaux.
Numa Broussard a native of Meaux and Henry native Ledie Boudreaux
were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Leroy,
Louisiana in 1943.
The couple have four children: Gerald, Glynn, Phyllis and Marla and
Mr. Broussard served in the Coast Guard from October of 1942 until
December of 1945 in the Pacific Theater of World War II.
He obtained his degree in Education from the Southwestern Louisiana
Institute (now UL) and his Masters from LSU. He was an educator at
Erath High School for 20 years and a supervisor for 13 years with
the Vermilion Parish School System.
Mrs. Broussard was a stay-at-home mother and enjoyed sewing for the
whole family and cooking for her loved ones. She is a graduate of
Henry High School where she was a Vermilion Parish All Star in
basketball playing in the All Star Tournament.
